Welcome to the BFF website (including all websites to which this Privacy Policy is posted, the “Site”), which is operated by Blockchain Founders Fund Pte Ltd and its affiliates (collectively, “BFF,” “we”, “us” and/or “our”). This Site provides, among other things, information about our people, organization, tools, blog, and application process. This Privacy Policy explains what Personal Information (defined below) we collect, how we use and share that data, and your choices concerning our data practices. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Before using the Service or submitting any Personal Information to BFF, please review this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the practices and procedures described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access the website and tools or otherwise use the Service.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information that alone or in combination with other information in our possession could be used to identify you (“Personal Information”). We may collect Personal Information when you complete an application form or apply for a position, subscribe to our newsletter, or sign up for an event.

Rockstar Employment, Co-op and Internships – If you apply to our Rockstar program, we will collect your name, email, LinkedIn profile, education and other information relevant to the type of job you are seeking, such as your location, areas of interest, work experience, education, and skills. We may share your Personal Information with third parties for program-related purposes (ie. Finding a role within a company that matches your interests). We may use your Application Information for any BFF-related purposes, including compiling aggregated statistics and publishing reports and trends.

Application Information – If you submit an application to BFF, we collect Personal Data on the executive(s) of the startup applying, such as name, contact information and email, education details, and the city/country in which they reside, as well as information about the applicant startup, such as the name, industry, and status of the company along with Personal Data on the executive(s) and any other information submitted in the broader application process. We may use your Application Information for any BFF-related purposes, including compiling aggregated statistics and publishing reports and trends.

Other Applications – If you complete other application forms we will collect your name, email, LinkedIn profile, and other information relevant to the application, such as your location, areas of interest, your work experience, education, and skills. We may share your Personal Information with third parties for the intended purposes. We may use your Application Information for any BFF-related purposes, including compiling aggregated statistics and publishing reports and trends.

Communication Information – When you subscribe to our newsletter, complete any forms or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect your name, contact information, and the contents of any messages you send, we may contact you for related purposes.

Website – When you visit, use, and interact with the Service, we may receive certain information about your visit, interactions, or use. For example, we may monitor the number of people that visit the Service, time of visits, which page(s) are visited, the domains our visitors come from (e.g., google.com, yahoo.com, etc.), which browsers people use to access the Service (e.g.,Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Microsoft Edge, etc.), broad geographical information, and navigation patterns. We log data for information that is created and automatically logged in our systems. This may include (e.g. Internet Protocol address, browser type and settings, the date and time of your request, and how you interacted with the Site), Device Information (e.g. name of the device, operating system, and browser you are using. Information collected may depend on the type of device you use and its settings), and Usage Information (e.g. how you use our Service, such as the types of content that you view or engage with, the features you use, the actions you take, and the time, frequency, and duration of your activities). We use cookies to operate and administer our Site, gather usage data on our Site, and improve your experience on it. Cookies can be stored on your computer for different periods of time. Some cookies expire after a certain amount of time, or upon logging out (session cookies), others survive after your browser is closed until a defined expiration date set in the cookie (as determined by the third party placing it), and help recognize your computer when you open your browser and browse the Internet again (persistent cookies). Among other service providers, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Alphabet, Inc. (“Google”). Disclosures

If your startup applies to BFF, we will not share your Application information, for any other purpose than the evaluation of your startup’s application. When we share your Application Information for such evaluation purposes, we will make efforts to ensure that those evaluators whether external or internal to BFF agree to treat your Application Information in confidence.

If you complete other application forms, we will not share your Application Information, other than for the purpose that was intended. When we share the information in your application and correspondence for evaluation purposes, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure that those evaluators (whether internal or external of BFF) agree to treat the information in your application confidentially.

We may also disclose your Application Information in specific circumstances:

Service Providers – To aid us in satisfying business operations needs, diligence and to pursue certain services and functions, we may share Application Information. Pursuant to our guidelines, these parties may process, access, or store Application Information as part of providing services to BFF. 

M&A – If we are involved in a merger or acquisition (or other business transfer or sale of assets activities), we reserve the right to share your Application Information as part of the diligence process with counterparties and those assisting with the Transaction and transmitted to an affiliate or successor as part of that transaction. 

Legal Requirements – We may share the application information if required to do so by law or to comply with legal regulations or obligations.

Affiliates – We may share Personal Information with our affiliates, meaning an entity that controls, is under common control, or is controlled by BFF. Our affiliates may use the Personal Information we share in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Due to the significant volume of applications and related materials we receive and review, we do not assume responsibility to protect against misuse or disclosure of any general information, knowledge or other materials (including without limitation any information generally known in your industry) included in your Application or correspondence. Any general or company information or knowledge you submit to BFF may be used or divulged by us or any person with whom we share the application for any purpose and in any manner. 

We may use Personal Information for the following purposes, To provide and administer access to the Service; To grant access to and track attendance at our events; To respond to your inquiries, comments, feedback, or questions; To send administrative information to you, for example, information regarding the Service and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies; To prevent fraud, criminal activity, or misuses of our Service, and to ensure the security of our IT systems, architecture, and networks; To analyze how you interact or engage with our Service; To maintain and improve the functionality and content of the Service; To develop new programs and services; and To comply with legal obligations and legal process and to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you, or other third parties.

You submit applications and interact with our Service at your own risk. We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect the information in the application both online and offline from loss, unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no Internet or e-mail transmission is ever fully secure or error free. In particular, e-mails sent to or from us may not be secure. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what Information you send to us as part of your application. After the application process has completed, we may retain your application and the information contained therein.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change or modify portions of these Terms of Use at any time.

Indemnity & Release – You agree to release, indemnify and hold BFF and its affiliates and their officers, employees, directors and agents harmless from any and all losses, expenses, damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, claims, rights, actions of any kind and injury (including death) arising out of or relating to your use of the BFF website or services or any related information, any User Content, your application(s) to BFF or the results thereof, your violation of these Terms of Use or your violation of any rights of another.

Disclaimer of Warranties – Your use of the BFF site and services is at your sole risk. The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. BFF expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether implied, express, or statutory, including, but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, title, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. BFF makes no warranty that (i) the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, (ii) the site will meet your requirements, or (iii) the results that may be obtained from the use of the site will be reliable or accurate.

Limitation of Liability – You expressly understand and agree that BFF will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, exemplary damages, or damages for loss of revenue or profits including but not limited to, damages for loss of goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if BFF has been advised of the possibility of such damages), whether based on contract, negligence, tort, strict liability or otherwise, resulting from: (i) unauthorized access to or alteration of your data or transmissions; (ii) the use or the inability to use the BFF site, services, or any related information; (iii) statements or conduct of any third party (including users) on the site; or (iv) any other matter relating to the site. In no event will BFF’s total liability to you for all damages, losses or causes of action exceed one hundred Singapore dollars ($100).
